
Badam kheer is a very popular dessert served in North India.This milk based sweet drink is loaded with the richness of badam and flavoured with cardamom & saffron.This is a wonderful dessert to serve in any party.
Ingredients
Badam (Almonds)-1 cup
Milk-1/2 litre
Sugar-2-3 table spoons (depends on how sweet you want the dish to be)
Cardomom (elachi) powder – 1 tsp
Saffron (soaked in milk) -1 tsp.
Method of preparation
Soak the badam overnight & peel the skin off. Grind it into a fine paste.
Boil ½ litre milk in a vessel and add the badam paste and mix well. Let it boil for around 2 minutes.
Add sugar to this and allow the mixture to boil for around 8 minutes till the texture changes to a light creamy consistency.
Add the cardamom powder and saffron(soaked in milk) to this & switch off the stove.
Delicious badam kheer is ready to be served. Garnish this with chopped almonds.
Badam kheer can be served hot or chilled.
