A popular British dish, easy to make and a treat for those with sweet tooth.


Baby carrots – 10 nos.

Butter – 2 tbsp

Honey- 2 tbsp

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Finely crushed black pepper – To taste

Salt – To taste

Method of preparation


Boil water in a pan, add salt and add the washed baby carrots.

Cover the pan with a lid and allow the carrots to cook till they are tender. Make sure not to overcook them.

Drain the water and allow the carrots to cool.

Heat a pan in the stove and add butter and let it melt.

Now add honey and lemon juice and mix well.

Add the carrots and coat the carrots with the honey-butter mixture.

Switch off the gas stove and the caramelized carrots are ready to be served.

Serve them by sprinkling salt and pepper on top.


  • Honey can be replaced with sugar to make the caramelized syrup and can be served as caramelized carrots.
  • If you don’t find baby carrots you can try the recipe with carrot fingers.
