Coconut Coriander Chutney

This is a wonderful accompaniment with  Idli, Rava Idli, Dosa or Rava Dosa and is a typical South Indian Recipe.

Ingredients used:

Freshly Grated Coconut – 1 cup

Fried gram – 4 to 5 tea spoons

Green chillies – 3 to 4  (depending on spice level)

Chopped Corainder leaves – 3 to 4 table spoons

Salt to taste

Tamarind – 1 small piece

Asafoetida Powder (Hing) – a pinch

Method of Preparation

Soak the fried gram in water for about 30 minutes.

Grind together the grated coconut, fried gram and green chillies,tamarind and Asafoetida Powder(hing) along with salt.

Once it is ground to a paste, add the Chopped Corainder leaves and grind once.

Transfer the contents to a bowl.

No Seasoning is required for this Coconut Coriander Chutney preparation.

Your awesome Coconut Chutney is ready to be had with Idli, Rava Idli, Dosa or Rava Dosa. Some prefer having this as an accompaniment for Poori / chapathi etc.
