Oats Paniyaram is an instant and easy to cook dish. It can be had as a tea-time snack or as a breakfast item.

Oats -1 cup

Rice flour – 1tbsp

Beaten sour curds -1/2 cup

Water -1/2 cup

Finely chopped ginger – 1tbsp

Finely chopped green chilly -1tbsp

Finely chopped onion – ¼ cup

Grated carrot -1/4 cup

Finely chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp

Asafoetida (hing) powder – a pinch

Salt – To taste

Oil – To make paniyarams

For seasoning

Oil – 1 tbsp

Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp

Chana daal -1 tsp

Curry leaves – a few

Method of preparation
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to form a batter.

Heat oil in a pan and season with mustard seeds, channa daal and curry leaves.

Add the seasoning to the batter.

Allow the batter to rest for ½ an hr so that the oats is soaked well.

If the batter consistency is too thick after the oats soaks up add little water to make it a bit loose.
Heat the paniyaram pan.

Add ½ tsp of oil in each of the depression.

Once the oil is hot pour the paniyaram batter.

Pour ½ tsp of oil on top of the batter on its sides.

Allow the paniyarams to cook.

Once the bottom part is cooked flip and cook the top part.

Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
